阅读:Follow the following tips to reduce your stress to manageable levels! Avoid “ Must” think

Questions 26 to 30 are based on the following passage:

Follow the following tips to reduce your stress to manageable levels! Avoid “ Must” think. Let go of the notion that you must do something in a certain way—for example, “I must get a great score on a test, or else.” This thought pattern only adds to the stress you’ll feel. Evaluate your situation coldly and analytically, and not as a “life or death” situation. Watch the Mess. Don’t study in a messy or cramped area. Clear yourself a nice, open space that’s free of distractions. Set Manageable Goals. Break large projects into smaller and doable parts and you’ll feel a positive sense of accomplishment as you finish each part. Ocean Dumping. Visualize yourself walking on a beautiful beach, carrying a sand pail. Stop at a good spot and put your worries into the pail. Drop the pail and watch as it drifts away into the ocean. Think Good Thoughts. Create a set of positive but brief affirmations and mentally repeat them to yourself just before you fall asleep at night, and you will feel a lot more positive in the morning. Imagine Yourself Succeeding. Close your eyes and remember a real life situation in which you did well. Imagine facing your stressful situation with the same feelings of confidence. Use Your Bed for Sleeping, not Studying. Your mind may start to associate your bed with work, which will make it harder for you to fall asleep.Soothing Sounds. If you want to play music, keep it low in the background. Classical music especially can aid the learning process. Take a Hike, Pal. Need a study break? Take a short, brisk walk. Clear your mind.

We have rather a small house, with only one spare bedroom. You can imagine our alarm, then
, when Aunt Clara wrote to say that she was coming to stay with her family for the weekend. Her family, l should explain, consists of four boys, all under the age of 12.

I sent off a telegram at once, protesting that our house was too small. Aunt Clara called us up the next morning. "I forgot to explain," she said in her sweetest voice, "the boys will bring a couple of tents."

Even so, my wife was far from reassured. It was true we had a large garden, but there was still the problem of feeding four growing boys.

"And what if it rains?" she demanded.

But Saturday morning turned out to be bright and clear when I went to the station to meet Aunt Clara. I managed to squeeze three of the boys, together with the luggage, into the back of the car. The youngest sat in front, with Aunt Clara and me.

"I didn't see the tents among your luggage," I remarked over my shoulder to David, the eldest boy.

"The tents!" exclaimed Aunt Clara, "Heavens! we left them in the luggage van."

Rob Reiner,co-founder of Castle Rock Entertainment, was greadtly surprised when he saw his
studio's film Proof of Life. “Wow,why is Meg Ryan smoking up a storm?”Reiner says. “It didn't add to the plot. ”Fourteen months later,Castle Rock has a policy of discouraging tobacco use. Any actor, director or screenwriter who wants to depict it must first meet with Reiner. “They have to make a really good case. ”he says. “Movies are basically advertising cigarettes to kids. ”Movie characters light up more often than people do in real life, argues Stanton Glantz,a professor of medicine who has launched a“Smoke-Free Movies”newspaper ad campaign. His study found that on average the 20 top-grossing films featured 50%more instances of smoking an hour in 2000 than in 1960. And an American Lung Association survey discovered that 61%of the tobacco use in films last year occurred in movies rated G,PG and PG-13. With teen smoking up dramatically in the past decade,a movement is building to hold Hollywood accountable. So Glantz says,“The entertainment industry is in denial. ”

But it's getting an education. Susan Moses, deputy director of Harvard's Center for Health Communication, and Lindsay Doran, former head of United Artists, have been going from one studio to another. They hit the bosses with hard facts:a million teens a year become daily smokers, and a third of those will eventually die from tobacco-related illness. When Doran and Moses met with executives from Imagine Pictures, says Doran,“They said,‘Smoking is not in any of our scripts. ’But then they called the next day and said,‘We looked, and it's everywhere. ’”Karen Kehela,co-chairman of Imagine, recalls trying to take smoking out of one script. after the meeting,“but the actor insisted on smoking,”she says. In fact, many movie stars can't leave their cigarettes in the dressing room. “Actors who smoke look for any reason to integrate it into their characters,”Reiner says. “You have directors who don't care about the social implications or are yielding to the actors. ”

Reiner was astonished at the film Proof of Life made in his studio because______.

A.one of the characters smoked a lot

B.smoking added something to the plot

C.smoking in the film resulted in a storm

D.tobacco use was prohibited from films
